Hosting and Performance

Managed hosting for Central Coast businesses, tuned so your site stays fast on a phone and green in Google’s Core Web Vitals.

Hosting is usually sold on disk space and bandwidth, which are the two things a small-business site never runs out of. What actually matters is how quickly the server answers, whether the caching is set up correctly, and whether anyone is watching when something breaks.

What we tune

  • Server-side page caching. Pages are served pre-built rather than assembled per visit, which is the single biggest win available on a WordPress site.
  • Browser caching and compression. Correct cache headers plus compression, so repeat visitors download almost nothing.
  • Trimmed CSS and JavaScript. Minified, combined where it helps, and deferred so nothing blocks the first paint.
  • Image handling. Modern formats, right-sized files, dimensions declared in the markup, and lazy loading for anything below the fold.
  • Fewer moving parts. We audit the plugin list and remove what is not paying for itself. Most sites are carrying three or four passengers.
  • Current PHP. Running a supported version, which is free speed and the security floor.

Core Web Vitals, in plain terms

Google grades three things and uses them in ranking. LCP is how long until the main content appears — the number most sites fail. INP is how quickly the page reacts when someone taps. CLS is whether the layout jumps around while loading, which is what makes people tap the wrong thing.

All three are measurable, and all three are fixable. We report on them rather than asking you to take our word for it.

What is included

Managed hosting covers WordPress core, theme and plugin updates, an SSL certificate so the site loads over HTTPS, daily backups, uptime monitoring, and a person who answers when something is wrong. That last part is why we list our hours as 24/7.

Sites break at bad hours. Ours is the number you call.

Already have a site elsewhere?

We migrate it, usually without downtime worth mentioning. Often the speed problem turns out to be configuration rather than the host, in which case we will say so — and if your current setup is fine, we will tell you that too.
