SEO and Organic Marketing

Local search work for San Luis Obispo County: the map pack, the searches your neighbours are typing, and pages built to answer them.

Local SEO is not the same discipline as ranking a national site, and most of what is written about it does not apply to a business serving four towns. For a local business, the work is narrower and considerably more concrete.

What we work on

  • The map pack. Those three results above everything else take the majority of local clicks. Getting into them is a specific job: a complete and correct business profile, consistent details everywhere they appear, real categories, and reviews.
  • Consistent NAP. Name, address and phone identical across your site, your business profile and every directory that lists you. Search engines treat mismatches as a reason to trust you less, and this is the most common problem we find.
  • Business schema. Structured data in the page markup that states plainly what you do, where you work and when you are open, so the information is machine-readable rather than inferred.
  • Pages that match real searches. People search by service and by town. A page that matches that phrasing will outperform one clever headline every time.
  • The technical floor. Crawlable pages, a working sitemap, sensible titles and descriptions, and a site fast enough that speed is not the thing holding it back.
  • Reporting you can read. What you rank for, what changed, and how many calls came in. Not a forty-page export nobody opens.

How local search actually works

Google weighs three things for local results: relevance, distance and prominence. You cannot move your business, so the work goes into the other two. Relevance means your site and profile clearly say what you do. Prominence means the wider web agrees — reviews, mentions, consistent listings.

Neither is fast, and anyone promising page one in thirty days is either misleading you or planning something that will cost you later.

What we will not do

No bought links, no keyword stuffing, no auto-generated pages for every town in the county. Those still work briefly and then they do not, and cleaning up afterwards costs more than doing it properly.

A realistic timeline

Technical fixes and a corrected business profile can move things within weeks. Competitive service terms take months of consistent work. We will tell you which category you are in before you spend anything.

Not sure where you currently stand?

We will check what you rank for, how your listings look, and what is realistically reachable — then tell you whether it is worth the spend.
